A Program of Companioning for Street Children

According to the country’s Department of Social Welfare and Development in 2018, there were at least 250,000 street children in the Philippines. A few hundred of these would be found living or working in the streets of Cebu, mostly without the care and protection of responsible adults.

Despite rapid economic growth and a 5% decline in the Philippine poverty rate between 2015 to 2018, the situation remains extremely challenging for the unfortunate children.

Dilaab’s YERP aims to get these street children off the streets for good in partnership with Abtanan sa Kaluoy (House of Mercy) of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

Whatever your circumstance, we can surely use your help.

When you give generously of your time, talent, or treasure, you contribute to Dilaab’s work on pastoral accompaniment focused on the following advocacies:

  • Youth Empowerment and Restoration
  • Community-based Recovery Program for Drug Dependents
  • Reformatory Formation Training for Police and Public Officials
